1st Social Support Program – Lamjung

Overview

On 22 September 2025 (6th Ashoj 2082 B.S.), the first Social Support Program of Himalaya Sun Students Foundation was successfully conducted at Shree Saraswati Sadan Basic School in Lamjung, Nepal. This important program marked the official beginning of the Foundation’s social support initiatives aimed at improving educational opportunities and supporting the overall well-being of children living in rural mountain communities.

The program was organized in close coordination with the school administration, teachers, parents, and local community members. The event was conducted in a joyful and supportive environment, where students and their families gathered together to celebrate the start of the new academic year and share happiness ahead of the Dashain festival.

During this special occasion, 70 students from Nursery to Grade 8 received essential educational materials, clothing support, personal hygiene items, sports equipment, and nutritious food supplies. The distribution of these support materials was carried out in the presence of students, parents, teachers, school management committee members, and respected community representatives, ensuring transparency, accountability, and community participation.

All attending students and parents were warmly welcomed and provided with snacks and refreshments, creating a friendly and inclusive atmosphere and allowing families to celebrate the occasion together. The program also included a community gathering and meal as part of the Dashain celebration, strengthening relationships between the school, families, and the local community.

Although the Founder and President of Himalaya Sun Students Foundation, Ms. Karina Grewar, participated remotely, her vision, kindness, and continuous support made this program possible. The program was successfully organized and implemented on-site by Ms. Geeta Pandey and Mr. Anup Babu Koirala, representing Hills Range Trek & Expeditions Pvt. Ltd. Their dedication, leadership, and commitment to community service played a key role in the smooth coordination and successful completion of this first Social Support Program.
