Heritage Preservation

Overview

Heritage Preservation Interns work closely with communities, cultural organizations, and local stakeholders to support the conservation of both tangible and intangible heritage. This includes monuments, traditional practices, languages, arts, and local customs.

The program focuses on raising awareness about the importance of cultural heritage while encouraging community participation in its preservation.


Key Responsibilities

Interns take part in a variety of meaningful activities, including:

  • Assisting in documentation of cultural traditions, practices, and local histories
  • Supporting preservation efforts at heritage sites and community landmarks
  • Conducting awareness campaigns on cultural heritage conservation
  • Engaging with local artisans, elders, and cultural practitioners
  • Helping organize cultural events, exhibitions, and workshops
  • Creating digital or written content to promote heritage awareness
  • Assisting in research and reporting related to heritage projects

Program Structure

  • Duration: 1 to 6 months
  • Working Hours: 5–6 hours per day, 5 days a week
  • Structure: Orientation → Fieldwork → Cultural Projects → Evaluation

Eligibility

Upon completion, interns receive:

  • Letter of Recommendation (based on performance)
